John and Karen Belmont Football Award

The John and Karen Belmont Football Award is an annual scholarship awarded to undergraduate or graduate students at the University of Alberta who are members of the Golden Bears Football Team. Recipients are selected based on academic standing, requiring a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on at least 18 units of course weight taken during the previous academic year, as well as excellence in football. This endowed award was established by friends and family of John and Karen Belmont in celebration of their marriage, supporting student-athletes who demonstrate both academic achievement and athletic excellence.
