About this opportunity
The John and Nancy Nations Scholarship Fund was created to honor the memory of John and Nancy Nations, faithful members of Methodist churches in Macon, Georgia, who welcomed young associate ministers into their church family. This scholarship provides financial support to seminary students from Georgia who are pursuing ordination as United Methodist ministers. The fund reflects the Nations family's legacy of giving and supports the next generation of Methodist clergy through their theological education at United Methodist seminaries or Asbury Theological Seminary.
Eligible students must be from Georgia, enrolled full-time or part-time in seminary at the master's level, working toward ordination through either the elder or deacon path, and have been active members of the United Methodist Church for at least one year. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need, potential to succeed, commitment to community, and strong family life. The scholarship awards $2,000 annually to one recipient, with the opportunity for renewal for up to four years of theological education.
