About This Opportunity

The Denver Press Club's John C. Ensslin and Bruce Goldberg Scholarship program supports students who are committed and engaged in the field of journalism. Applicants are eligible to receive one of several scholarship awards including the John C Ensslin Scholarship, Cynthia Hessin Memorial Scholarship, Damon Runyon Scholarship, or Walter Bass Photojournalism Scholarship. The Cynthia Hessin Memorial Scholarship specifically honors her legacy by supporting women pursuing excellence and leadership in journalism. Scholarships are awarded once each year through a competitive process based on vision for the future, commitment to the field and passion for journalism work, quality of work, and scholastic potential. Scholarship awards are one-time awards that may be used for tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, and any additional cost of attendance expenses. All scholarships are paid directly to the recipient's school and must be used for the academic year. Ten total awards are available: one $3,000 John C. Ensslin Scholarship, one $3,000 Cynthia Hessin Memorial Scholarship, and eight $1,500 Damon Runyon Scholarships with potential for one to be the Walter Bass Scholarship for the top photojournalism recipient.
