The John Gurner & Frederick Ebsworth Scholarship is a postgraduate coursework scholarship valued at $4,000 per annum to support international students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. This Scholarship was established in 2023 using bequest funds to honour the memories of John Gurner and Frederick Ebsworth. The scholarship is tenable for one year and is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and a personal statement outlining the impact of the scholarship on their ability to study at the University of Sydney.
