John Hennessy-Moore Memorial Safety Award

The John Hennessy-Moore Memorial Safety Award is a scholarship for Red Deer Polytechnic apprentices who completed the Steamfitter/Pipefitter program in the most recent academic year. Students must achieve a minimum average of 85% in their Red Deer Polytechnic school work and obtain a grade of 80% or higher on two safety assessments completed in their BlackBoard account between September and May 31 annually. The award recognizes the highest grades in two safety modules at Red Deer Polytechnic. Recipients are automatically considered based on their completed General Application, making the application process straightforward for eligible students. This memorial award honors John Hennessy-Moore and supports students pursuing careers in the skilled trades, specifically in the steamfitting and pipefitting disciplines. The scholarship provides financial support to outstanding students who demonstrate excellence in both academic performance and safety competency.
