John J. & Janet H. Sung Scholarship Fund

The John J. & Janet H. Sung Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by Mr. John J. Sung and Dr. Janet H. Sung to support medical students at the University at Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate both financial need and high academic merit, as documented through completion of the FAFSA. Beyond academic achievement, the scholarship seeks students who embody a genuine caring attitude, generosity of spirit, and leadership potential. Recipients of these scholarships are awarded the distinction of being known as 'Sung Scholars,' recognizing their commitment to excellence in medical education and service.
