About this opportunity
The John Monash Scholarship enables talented Australians to pursue a master's or PhD program at any world-class university outside of Australia, with no restrictions on field of study or institution. The scholarship provides $100,000 AUD for each year of study up to a maximum of $300,000 AUD for three years. Funds can be used towards tuition fees, accommodation and other living expenses. Scholars also receive personalised career support and lifelong leadership development through the Leadership Academy, plus a one-off travel allowance to assist with flights from Australia to the country of study.
John Monash Scholars demonstrate academic excellence, outstanding leadership potential, and have a strong vision to build Australia's capabilities for the future. Academic excellence may be evidenced by outstanding academic results, prizes, awards, publications, performances, exhibitions, enterprises and professional endeavours. Leadership potential may be demonstrated in academic, professional or community environments. Applicants must articulate career goals, explain how their career will benefit Australia, and justify why their chosen university and program are the best fit to achieve this vision.
The Foundation provides ongoing support during studies, access to a strong scholar network for mentorship and advice, and assistance with liaising with host universities. Additional fee waivers and bursaries are exclusively available to John Monash Scholars at partner universities including King's College London, Cranfield University, IE University Madrid, and University of Groningen.
