About this opportunity
The John Nesbit Scholarship for Biomedical Sciences is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at the University of Queensland. Established in 2023 from the bequest of John Nesbit, this scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who can demonstrate financial hardship and are enrolled in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences program. The scholarship provides $5,000 in financial support for the duration of the approved program, with up to 6 awards available per year. Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and the strength of the personal statement demonstrating how the scholarship will assist with program completion. Where all other considerations are equal, preference is given to applicants who do not hold a similar scholarship.
