About this opportunity

The John Nesbit Scholarship for Biomedical Sciences is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at The University of Queensland. Established in 2023 from the bequest of John Nesbit, this scholarship supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who are enrolled in or applying to the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences program. The scholarship aims to assist students who can demonstrate financial hardship and provides support for the duration of their approved program. Eligible applicants must be Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, demonstrate financial hardship, and be enrolled in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences. Selection is based on demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and strength of personal statement demonstrating how the scholarship will assist with program completion. Up to 6 scholarships are awarded annually.
