About This Opportunity
The John Robert Hamilton Memorial Scholarship is available to give financial support to postgraduate students taking their history Masters degree at the University of Stirling. The annual scholarship of £1,000 is intended to help relieve the financial pressures which make academic life so difficult. This scholarship was set up in 2009 by Ruth Wright to help fund the postgraduate study of Scottish History as a tribute to John Robert Hamilton who died suddenly in 2008, mid-way through his Masters of Research degree programme at the University of Stirling. The scholarship is awarded after open competition to students who were born in the UK, are graduates of a Scottish university or the Open University, research an aspect of Scottish History, and are registered students at the University of Stirling.
