About This Opportunity

In 1987, the World Bank, with funding from the Government of Japan, established the World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program for graduate studies in subjects related to economic development. Each year, the Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank. The scholarship is specifically focused on poverty alleviation and shared prosperity in developing countries. The program supports master's level graduate students from Japan and developing countries who have at least 3 years of development-related work experience. The scholarship covers comprehensive support including international travel, tuition, health insurance, and monthly living allowances to enable recipients to pursue graduate studies at partner institutions.
