Jon and Diana Giffin Geologist Scholarship

The Jon and Diana Giffin Geologist Scholarship supports geology majors at Eastern Illinois University who are at least at sophomore status and plan to pursue careers as geologists. Recipients must be full-time students with a declared major in Geology and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement and commitment to the field of geology. In cases where two or more students are equally qualified based on academic criteria, financial need becomes the determining factor for selection. The award is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester. Recipients may reapply and receive the award again in subsequent years, provided they continue to meet all eligibility criteria including maintaining their GPA, full-time status, and career goals in geology.
