Jon J. Hopkins Memorial Speech Education Scholarship

The Jon J. Hopkins Memorial Speech Education Scholarship is awarded to graduate or undergraduate students majoring in Communication Studies or Public Relations at Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship abilities in both overall academics and in their major field. Candidates must be nominated by faculty members in the Communication Studies Department, and nominations must include a letter of support for the nominee. This scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing degrees in communication-related fields including communication studies, public relations, health communication, communication and leadership, and television and video production. Awards are announced in the Spring semester and disbursed the following Fall semester.
