About this opportunity
The Jonathan Ruffer curatorial grants provide funding for travel and other practical costs to help curators undertake collections and exhibition research projects in the UK or internationally. These grants support UK curators, museum professionals and researchers to undertake travel and other activities that will extend and develop their curatorial expertise, collections-based knowledge and art historical interests. The grants can support UK and international travel and accommodation for research trips and conferences, training courses and programmes of study (including online), subscriptions such as archive subscriptions, and other activities where a strong case can be made for their contribution to the development of curatorial skills and collections-based research projects. The programme offers two tiers: small grants up to £2,000 with no fixed deadlines and rolling applications decided within eight weeks, and large grants over £2,000 with two annual deadlines. Applicants must be employed by or working in partnership with a not-for-profit museum, gallery, archive or arts organisation in the UK that regularly programmes exhibitions open to the public for the majority of the year.
