About this opportunity
The Josef Lapes Memorial Bursary honors Josef Lapes, who was born and educated in Czechoslovakia and emigrated to Canada in 1982. He graduated from the NAIT Carpentry program in the early 1980s and co-founded Pemco Construction Ltd. in 1990, which became a successful organization in the community. Josef was well known in the industry for his dedication to every project, creating relationships, and exceeding expectations.
This bursary is available to second period students enrolled in the Carpenter Apprenticeship program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). The award is granted on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement.
Apprenticeship students must submit an application to be considered for this award. Apprentices will only be considered for the intake they attend NAIT. Applicants are automatically considered based on their completed General Application through the NAIT Scholarship Opportunities portal.
