About this opportunity
The Joseph Beggs Foundation for Kinematics Undergraduate Prize in Mechanical Engineering is awarded annually to a student with superior academic achievement entering the third or fourth year in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing in the courses taken in dynamics, kinematics, mechanisms and vibrations. This prize honors the memory of Joseph Stiles Beggs, who earned his BSc in Physics in 1931 and MSc in Spectroscopy in 1934 from the University of Alberta, and served as a Professor at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA from 1948 to 1971. Students are automatically considered for this award based on their completed General Application through the University of Alberta's scholarship system.
