About This Opportunity

In 2017, Joseph Nystrom was working his way through college when his life was cut short by a drunk driver. This scholarship is intended to honor his memory by assisting working students as they return to college or remain enrolled in post-secondary education until graduation. The family's purpose in creating the scholarship is to provide funding for adult students who want to finish their college degrees. The scholarship may be used towards any need listed under the school's total cost of attendance. Payments are made annually for up to 2 years ($8,000 per year), and the student must maintain good academic standing and submit semester reports in order to continue receiving funding. Preference will be given to students who have overcome barriers to pursuing post-secondary education, including but not limited to medical barriers. Only students pursuing undergraduate degrees will be eligible.
