About This Opportunity

The Josiah and Myra Roberts Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship established in 2020 in honour of Josiah and Myra Roberts to encourage students to pursue the study of both physics and mathematics during their undergraduate study at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum and is tenable for up to three years, providing financial support to domestic students from low socioeconomic backgrounds or those who demonstrate disadvantage or hardship. Eligible students must be recent school leavers who are Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or New Zealand Citizens with an unconditional offer of admission to a full-time undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Science. Recipients must have studied both physics and mathematics in their NSW HSC (or equivalent) and must enrol in physics and/or mathematics units during their degree. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, socioeconomic background or demonstrated disadvantage, and personal statements outlining the impact of the scholarship and interest in studying both mathematics and physics.
