Judge Bhatia Citizenship Award

The Judge Bhatia Citizenship Award is presented to a full-time student enrolled in the NorQuest College Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program. This nominated award recognizes newcomers to Canada who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and exemplary citizenship qualities. Eligible candidates must be newcomers to Canada who have established residential ties, including persons in need of protection, those who have applied for or received permanent resident status from Citizenship & Immigration Canada, or those who have received approval-in-principle to stay in Canada. Recipients must display leadership qualities and embody the attributes of a good Canadian citizen, including being helpful to classmates, courteous, and hard working. This is a nominated award, meaning students cannot apply directly. Successful recipients will be notified by the NorQuest College Awards office after the Winter term has concluded. The award provides $250 CAD to support the educational journey of deserving newcomers integrating into Canadian society.
