About This Opportunity

Established in memory of Dr. Judith Sloman, who taught at the University of Calgary from 1968 until her death in 1980, this scholarship encourages students in her two main areas of academic interest - Women's Studies and Eighteenth Century English Literature. The scholarship is offered annually to continuing undergraduate students enrolled in any faculty who are registered full-time but need not be carrying a full course load. Recipients are selected based on academic merit in courses in Eighteenth Century English Literature, with preference given to students who have completed three half courses in Eighteenth Century English Literature over the last two consecutive terms. Two awards of up to $1,800 each are available. For more information about applicable courses in English, students should consult the Department of English.
