About this opportunity
The Judy K. Profitt DVM Entrance Scholarship at AVC is granted to a deserving student entering the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) who completed all prerequisite courses for admittance to AVC at an Atlantic Canada university and their secondary education at a Prince Edward Island high school. If there is more than one qualifying candidate, preference will be given to the student exhibiting academic achievement and a deep commitment and love for animals. This scholarship honors Judy Profitt, a life-long Prince Edward Islander and retired Speech-Language Pathologist who holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Mt. Allison University and a Master of Science (Speech Pathology & Audiology) from Ithaca College. Judy continues her family's legacy of supporting multiple charities including those that protect and enhance the environment, assist individuals medically, and contribute to the lives of companion animals and Island wildlife. The scholarship was established due to Judy's belief in higher education, respect for AVC's expertise and compassionate care, particularly the exemplary care her beloved Shih Tzus received at the college.
