About this opportunity
The K E Bullen Scholarships were established in 1982 by public subscription and later supplemented by further donations to recognise the work of Professor K.E. Bullen, who was Professor of Applied Mathematics from 1946 to 1971. The scholarships aim to encourage study in mathematics with particular emphasis on the promotion of excellence in applied mathematics. There are two scholarships valued at $7,500 each: K E Bullen Scholarship No I in Applied Mathematics and K E Bullen Scholarship No II in Applied Mathematics (specifically for female students). Both scholarships support undergraduate students enrolled full-time in an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics, Financial Mathematics and Statistics, Statistics, or Data Science within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. The scholarships are awarded based on proficiency in specified mathematics and statistics units, with Scholarship No I giving preference to students demonstrating hardship circumstances or identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. No application is required as all eligible candidates are considered automatically, and successful candidates are advised via email.
