Karen Buhler-Wilkerson Faculty Research Fellowship For Historical Research in Nursing

The Karen Buhler-Wilkerson Fellowship was established to honor the legacy and contributions that Dr. Buhler-Wilkerson made to the field of the history of nursing through her work and mentorship, and through her leadership of the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing. The Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing offers this fellowship of up to $6,000 to faculty from all disciplines from colleges and universities, to support research in the history of nursing in their extensive collections that document the history of nursing and healthcare in the U.S. Selection of faculty fellows will be based on the strength of the project and their demonstrated need to access the Bates Center's collections. Fellows will have access to the Bates Center's knowledgeable staff as well as resources available through the Penn Libraries. Buhler-Wilkerson fellows will be asked to work with the Center to help curate a digital exhibit based on their archival research and may also be asked to present and discuss their work at the Barbara Bates Center's Works in Progress Forum.
