About this opportunity

This academic merit scholarship is awarded to a bachelor's degree student who is a declared major in STEM fields including engineering, computer science, biological sciences, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and related disciplines. The scholarship specifically targets nontraditional students, defined as those who did not enroll in college directly out of high school, those who returned to complete a degree after an extended break, or those who are primary financial support and caretakers of children under 18 or disabled adults. Grades and engagement in activities to prepare for a career after college will be considered, with a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA required. Students must hold standing at the sophomore level or higher at UWM. This scholarship provides financial support for undergraduate students pursuing STEM degrees while balancing significant life responsibilities. Students working on a second bachelor's degree are not eligible, and awards given in spring are for the following school year.
