About This Opportunity
Established by Mrs Smith in memory of her daughter Katharine Smith, former pupil at St Leonards, a private school in St Andrews. The scholarship is open to candidates who have been educated at St Leonards School. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The award provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance, which can be used towards University accommodation fees. The award is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to the student's bank account from September to May, with a double payment in February. This bursary is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme and selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria.
