About This Opportunity

This scholarship was established in 2019 and is maintained by an endowed gift from Kathy Hirschfeld OAM under the Create Change Scholarship Match Initiative. It supports female domestic students enrolled in their first year of engineering programs at the University of Queensland. The scholarship specifically targets students who can demonstrate financial hardship while pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering, or dual engineering programs. Recipients are selected based on evidence of financial hardship, academic achievements, personal qualities including leadership potential and community service, and other factors relevant to future success in the engineering profession. The scholarship provides at least $4,500 in support for one year to help ease the financial burden on promising female engineering students.
