About this opportunity
This memorial scholarship honors Katie Vinge-Riddell, a passionate young chef who at age 27 purchased The Happy Nun Cafe in Forget, Saskatchewan. During her two years operating the venue, she received numerous Trip Advisor Awards and was featured on The Prairie Diner, Saskatchewan Wanderer, CBC, and was interviewed by the BBC Travel Network before her untimely passing. The scholarship is available to students enrolled in the second year of the Culinary Arts program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of a minimum academic achievement of 75% to a student that displays passion, creativity, consideration for others and teamwork as measured by NAIT Culinary Arts Instructors with a rubric. Students must complete an application that includes an essay outlining how they display these qualities within the NAIT Culinary Arts program.
