About This Opportunity
The Kay Jones Scholarship provides two awards worth £5,000 each for applicants to either MA Philosophy or MA Social and Political Thought at the University of Sussex. These scholarships are awarded as a reduction to the 'home' tuition fee. This scholarship has been generously funded by a bequest in the will of Kay Jones, who studied Philosophy at the University of Sussex between 1964 and 1968 where she participated in philosophical debates and ethical arguments and immersed herself in student life. Kay went on to be called to the Bar by Gray's Inn in 1974 and had a successful career as a barrister and founding member of Field Court Chambers. Kay supported Sussex students throughout her career, speaking at career development evenings on campus and offering work shadowing placements. The scholarship continues her legacy of support for Sussex students pursuing studies in philosophy and social and political thought.
