Åke och Vera Holmbergs stipendiefond

The Åke and Vera Holmberg Scholarship Fund was established through Åke Holmberg's (known for 'Ture Sventon') testamentary gift of his future copyright revenues. The foundation's purpose is to provide children's and young adult book authors as well as translators the opportunity to stay in Nordic countries for professional development, studies, or to gain working peace. The scholarship amounts are intended to cover travel costs and approximately one month's stay at one of the Nordic writers' residences. Recipients are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodation, and should verify availability at desired guest houses before applying. The awarded scholarship must be utilized before the end of 2026, and a travel report must be submitted after completion. This scholarship is exclusively available to members of Sveriges Författarförbund (Swedish Writers' Union). The award decision is made by a special jury.
