Åke och Vera Holmbergs stipendiefond

The Åke and Vera Holmberg Scholarship Fund was established through a bequest from Åke Holmberg (creator of 'Ture Sventon') who donated future copyright royalties to create this foundation. The foundation's purpose is to provide children's and young adult book authors and translators with the opportunity to stay in Nordic countries for professional development, studies, or to gain working peace. The scholarship amounts are intended to cover the cost of travel and up to one month's stay at one of the Nordic author houses. Applicants are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodation. The scholarship must be used before the end of the award year, and a travel report must be submitted after the trip is completed. Applications are reviewed by a special jury.
