About This Opportunity
This scholarship was established by alumni from the School of English in order to support students from Scotland and the rest of the UK who are studying English. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The award provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance but can be used towards University accommodation fees. Maintenance is paid in ten monthly instalments directly to the student's bank account from September to May, with a double payment in February. This award is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme. Selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria, and scholarships in the Wardlaw Collection cannot be applied for individually but must be applied through the St Andrews Access Award application form.
