About this opportunity
The Kenneth B. Creasy Speech and Debate Scholarship was created to honor the late Kenneth B. Creasy, who died unexpectedly in June of 1992. Mr. Creasy was a former social studies teacher and speech and debate coach at Olentangy and Hayes high schools in Delaware County, Ohio. The scholarship recognizes graduating seniors and current college students from Delaware County, Ohio high schools who demonstrate superior public communication skills, integrity, and concern for the welfare of others. Two scholarships are awarded annually: one for a graduating high school senior and one for a current college student. Each scholarship provides $5,000 to support students attending or planning to attend an educational institution in the United States. Candidates must have outstanding academic promise and be recommended by a speech teacher, forensic director, English Department Chair, school counselor, or other faculty member who can best determine the candidates' excellence in communication. This scholarship celebrates students who excel in speech and debate and embody the values of public service and academic achievement that Mr. Creasy exemplified during his teaching career.
