The purpose of the Swedish Research Council's grant for visiting professors is to provide universities and higher education institutions the opportunity to develop a field by recruiting an internationally leading professor for a shorter period. The visiting professor should be an internationally distinguished researcher in the social sciences or humanities field. The nominated person must be a woman. The grant supports a visiting professorship of 6-12 months with a maximum of 145,000 SEK per month, totaling up to 1,740,000 SEK. The visiting professor is expected to participate in the institution's research and visit other institutions in the country within their research area. The awarded visiting professor must be employed by the administering organization during the entire visit. The institution is expected to arrange a professorial installation where the visiting professor delivers an open popular science lecture.
