About This Opportunity

The Kevin Indergaard Respiratory Excellence Award has been established in memory of a valued NAIT staff member. Kevin was a graduate of the SAIT Respiratory Therapy program as well as obtaining a Bachelor of Education through the University of Alberta. He truly found his calling when he began his teaching career at NAIT. Kevin was a passionate educator as well as an excellent mentor and facilitator. Kevin held numerous roles at NAIT such as Program Head of the Respiratory Therapy program, Chair of Community Care Programs, Chair of Diagnostic imaging Programs, Associate Registrar and the Department of Teaching and Academic Development. He has always had a strong commitment to the field of Respiratory Therapy and was passionate about student professionalism and their commitment to quality patient care. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2013. This award is available to students enrolled in the third year of the Respiratory Therapy program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of professionalism, recognizable effort and continued improvement in clinical achievements, critical thinking and effective connection of theory with clinical applications, a high level of commitment to patient care and well-being and a commitment to inter-professional and community activities. Students must submit an application to be considered for this award.
