About this opportunity
The Kevin J. Kritz Memorial Research Grant provides financial support for field research on eagle biology and conservation anywhere around the globe. The Fund was established by Kevin's family in 2023 in memory of the distinguished and devoted raptor conservationist, biologist, public servant, and long-time member of the RRF, Kevin Kritz (1959-2022). The grant seeks to provide support and advance research on eagles and eagle conservation anywhere in the world, honoring Kevin's particular love and dedication to eagle conservation. Kevin worked for over 21 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and previously with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, tirelessly working to achieve conservation for raptors and ensuring that the best available science and high ethical standards were at the core of decision making. The grant provides up to $5,000 in funding plus waived page charges for publication in the Journal of Raptor Research, allowing recipients to publish their research as the primary author.
