About this opportunity
The Kieran Hayden Memorial Award in Mechanical Engineering is awarded annually to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the third or fourth year of the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Alberta. The recipient is selected on the basis of academic standing combined with contributions made to community service and to engineering student activities, as well as participation in athletic or other creative activities. The financial need of the student may also be considered. This endowed award was established by the family and friends of the late Kieran Hayden, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Alberta, to honor his memory and support future engineering students. At the discretion of the Selection Committee, the award may not be awarded if no suitably qualified student can be found.
