About this opportunity
The Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown Memorial Award is a bursary established at the University of Prince Edward Island in 1990 by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown. Named after long-time and respected member Eugene Richard (known as 'Toots'), this award reflects the Kiwanis Club's purpose of improving the quality of life worldwide. The bursary is awarded to a full-time Prince Edward Island student in good academic standing who demonstrates involvement in university or community service work or other activities of a charitable nature which assist others in the learning or developmental process. Eligible activities include coaching, teaching, music, Student Union involvement, and similar charitable endeavors. The Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown may invite the bursary recipient to a meeting to address the Club and/or have a photo taken by the Guardian newspaper, ensuring the public is aware of how monies raised for charitable purposes are spent.
