About this opportunity

The Kiwanis Club of Tauranga fund was established by the Kiwanis Club of Tauranga after a public appeal of funds, with a scheme of charitable purposes approved by the High Court on 30 January 1990. Although the Kiwanis Club of Tauranga is no longer operating, the Trustee continues to maintain the spirit of granting as it was under the Club. The fund provides grants for general charitable purposes, with a focus on persons or organisations within the geographic areas of Tauranga District (including Otumoetai-Bethlehem, Mount Maunganui, Te Papa, Welcome Bay, Pyes Pa and Papamoa) and Western Bay of Plenty (including Waihi Beach, Kati Kati, Kai Mai, Te Puke and Maketu). Persons or organisations outside these districts may also be included. Funding is specifically applied towards two main areas: (1) the well-being and development of youth in the noted regions, and (2) aid in the treatment and recovery of medical trauma of youth in those regions. Applications are accepted biennially (2025, 2027, 2029, etc.) during a one-month window from May 1st to May 31st in the funding year, with outcomes advised by the end of June.
