Klimasats - Hurtigbåtprogrammet

The Klimasats Ferry Program (Hurtigbåtprogrammet) provides funding support for projects that contribute to realizing low- and zero-emission ferries in Norway. The program is administered by the Norwegian Environment Agency (Miljødirektoratet) and aims to promote climate action by supporting projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from ferries. To receive support, projects must accelerate the development of ferries that operate without or with very low greenhouse gas emissions, contribute to significantly reduced emissions compared to current ferries, and be directed towards ferries that will use electric power, hydrogen, ammonia, or biogas. County municipalities, municipalities working in consultation with county municipalities responsible for ferry services, county municipal enterprises organized under the Local Government Act Chapter 9, and the Longyearbyen local council are eligible to apply.
