Ko Te Tangata School Leaver Scholarship

The 'Ko Te Tangata' School Leaver Scholarship, named 'for the people', recognises and supports top-achieving students commencing an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato. Priority will be given to those who get 'Excellence' or 'Merit' endorsed at NCEA level 2 (or equivalent) at a New Zealand secondary school and/or students with demonstrated financial hardship or extraordinary personal circumstances. The scholarship is open to school leaver students with domestic fees status who are intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato for the first time. This scholarship is available for all subject areas including Arts, Business & Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Education, Health, Engineering, Law, Māori & Indigenous Studies, Science, and Social Sciences. Applicants may be taking a gap year in 2025 before commencing studies in 2026.
