About This Opportunity

The Kolkata Eden Hospital Annual Prize honours the legacy of Mr Prabhat Chattopadhyay FRCOG and his connection with Kolkata Medical College Hospital. This prize recognises outstanding insight and analytical ability in case study submissions, celebrating excellence in obstetrics and gynaecology demonstrated by final year medical students or Foundation Year 1 (FY1) doctors in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The prize is awarded for the best submission of a case study that demonstrates insightful analysis of any aspect of obstetrics and gynaecology undertaken during training. The Kolkata Eden Hospital is notable as the workplace of Professor Green Armytage, who spent 25 years there and designed 'uterine haemostatic forceps' still widely used in caesarean sections today.
