About This Opportunity

The Krebs Memorial Scholarship is offered to individuals whose very promising research career has been interrupted for extraordinary non-academic reasons and/or those ineligible for public funds. In December 1982 the Biochemical Society instituted a scholarship in biochemistry to commemorate the life and work of Sir Hans Krebs, FRS. The generous response to an appeal for funding from many of Sir Hans' pupils, colleagues, and admirers in many countries has provided sufficient funds to allow this scholarship to be awarded. Primarily aimed at acknowledging exceptional academic achievement and outstanding potential, this scholarship is not meant to supplement existing grants from other sources. The scholarship provides home-rate tuition fees and UKRI rate stipend, and will be offered for 1 academic year in the first instance but can be renewed up to a maximum of 3 years.
