About this opportunity
The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre Success Scholarships are awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at Murdoch University. Kulbardi was first established in 1988 as the Aboriginal Education Unit for Murdoch University and was named by respected Elder Ralph Winmar. The name Kulbardi, pronounced 'Kool-bar-dee', is the Noongar word for magpie.
The scholarships are awarded in four categories: Kulbardi Education Assistance, Kulbardi Childcare Support Scheme, Kulbardi Accommodation Assistance, and Kulbardi Laptop Scheme. These scholarships aim to support Indigenous students in achieving their academic goals and planned career pathways by providing financial assistance in various forms.
Applicants must intend to enroll or be currently enrolled at Murdoch University in either an enabling, undergraduate, or postgraduate course. They must be Australian citizens and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Recipients cannot currently be in receipt of any Commonwealth Scholarship payments (ICECS/ICAS/IAS). Applications are assessed based on a completed application form, a personal statement, and the potential for the scholarship to help achieve academic goals and career pathways.
