About This Opportunity

The Kurt Hansen Fellowship supports teachers, trainee teachers, and students of teaching subjects or pedagogy in the STEM area (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). The fellowship can be used for internships in Germany or abroad, research projects in STEM education, further education and training such as summer schools and research classes, and courses on science communication or civic science. Candidates must demonstrate a strong sense of commitment and motivation and submit an innovative international research project, which will be funded individually. Applicants must study or work in Germany and may be students of pedagogy, trainee teachers, student teachers in STEM subjects, young teachers with less than 3 years of teaching experience focusing on STEM subjects, or teachers at elementary and special schools seeking to improve their STEM teaching skills. The fellowship provides individual financial support limited to 10,000 EUR per request. Internships and research projects may be funded for up to 6 months, while further education and training can receive funding for up to 1 year.
