About this opportunity
The Lambs Hill Wind Farm Community Fund supports local community groups, voluntary organisations, and environmental projects that fight poverty and enrich lives within specific communities in County Durham and Stockton-on-Tees. Located north east of Stockton-on-Tees, this fund benefits communities in and around the wind farm area.
The fund provides grants up to £3,000 for charitable activities including promotion of energy efficiency, environmental protection and nature conservation, supporting health and wellbeing of local people, regeneration, improvements to community facilities, education and training facilities/equipment, and social welfare activities such as lunch clubs and food banks.
Eligible applicants include community groups, voluntary organisations, playgroups, youth clubs, church and village halls, sports clubs, the Scout and Guide Movement, environmental projects, clubs for senior citizens, schools (for non-statutory projects), and education/employment/training programs for unemployed people. Applicants don't need to be registered charities but must have charitable aims.
Specific geographic boundaries apply, including Stillington & Whitton, Bishopton, Foxton, Great Stainton, Little Stainton, Grindon, Bishopton Crossings, Thorpe Thewles, and Carlton. Projects outside these areas may be considered if they demonstrate benefit to local people from these locations. The fund is managed by Point North and funded by OnPath Energy.
