About this opportunity
The Languages and Cultures Scholarship is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student in any faculty at the University of Calgary. Established in honour of retired faculty members Rene Breugelmans, William R. Gilby, Juergen Jahn, Julian L. Laychuk, Ivor Luethy, Alexander Malycky, Alfred H. Schulze, Roman S. Struc and Clive von Cardinal (deceased), this scholarship was created by members of the former Department of Germanic, Slavic and East Asian Studies. The award recognizes academic merit and outstanding performance in senior level Chinese, German, Japanese, Russian, Slavic, or Arabic Language and Muslim Culture courses offered in The School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures. Recipients must be continuing undergraduate students in their second, third, or fourth year of study.
