About this opportunity
The Sarasota Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, Inc. (NLAPW) has created this program to encourage self-expression and creativity and to foster further interest or education in the arts. The competitions are open only to seniors (both females and males) in all public high schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties in Florida. The awards are based on competitions in Visual Arts, Letters (Writing), and Music, with awards ranging from $500 to $2,000.
In addition to receiving monetary awards, winning students will perform, read, or exhibit their winning entries at an Awards luncheon held at Prestancia Country Club. Additional opportunities will be offered to the winners to display their artwork, have their writings in print, and participate in musical performances as the program helps to launch students' futures in the arts.
Applications must be completed online, and students should carefully review the eligibility rules for each scholarship category. Up to 5 awards are available in each of the three competition categories (Visual Arts, Writing, and Music).
