About this opportunity
This scholarship, valued at $9,000 per annum, supports students studying Arabic language and cultures at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. The scholarship was established in 2021 to provide financial assistance to students studying the Arabic language and cultures and who are experiencing disadvantage or hardship. The scholarship is funded by a gift from the Lebanese Ladies' Association and is awarded based on academic merit and a personal statement demonstrating why applicants are studying Arabic and, if applicable, details of their disadvantage or financial hardship. Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate disadvantage or hardship, including those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, have refugee status or background, low socio-economic status, carer responsibilities, long-term medical conditions or disabilities, sole-parent responsibilities, regional or remote disadvantage, or are first in family to attend university.
