Legacy Scholarship

The Legacy Scholarship is awarded to select undergraduate students enrolled in the Lubar College of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This scholarship supports students who demonstrate academic merit with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, have financial need, are residents of the City of Milwaukee, and are first-generation college students (neither parent earned a baccalaureate degree). Awardees must also demonstrate one or more additional criteria including participation in professional development and/or mentoring programs supporting diversity in business or other professions, significant engagement with or service to the African-American/Black community, commitment to or interest in racial equity, diversity, or social justice shown through personal statements and/or evidence of participation in community or UWM groups or activities with this focus, or having experienced significant barriers to achieving higher education such as experience in foster care, living in a single-parent household, responsibilities for providing financial support or primary care for other household members, or overcoming personal adversity or family hardship. The scholarship provides $3,500 to support undergraduate business students and is administered through the UWM Foundation. The scholarship emphasizes supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in business education while providing financial assistance to Milwaukee-area students facing various challenges in pursuing higher education.
