About this opportunity

The Ole Dahl and wife Anna Legacy is a grant program established to support individuals in need who reside in the former municipalities of Arendal and Hisøy. The legacy was created by Ole Dahl, a ship owner, and his wife Anna, both of whom were dedicated to social work. Ole Dahl was a steamship captain who later became a successful shipowner during World War I. Anna was one of the founders of Arendal Red Cross in 1918 and later became an honorary member. The grant prioritizes, under otherwise equal conditions, descendants in direct descending line of siblings of the late Ole Dahl or their spouses. Secondary priority is given to men of the seafaring profession, their widows, and children. The program accepts applications once annually, with a deadline of October 31st each year. Applications open at the end of August. This legacy represents a lasting commitment to supporting those in need within the local community, particularly those with connections to the maritime profession and the Dahl family lineage. The fund continues the social welfare mission that both Ole and Anna Dahl championed during their lifetimes.
