About this opportunity
The Leighton Mellemstrand Bar None Undergraduate Leadership Award is awarded to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with satisfactory academic standing entering the second, third, or fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, or a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Sustainable Agricultural Systems. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership through involvement in extracurricular activities. This endowed award was established by Leighton Mellemstrand (Ag '62) with recognition and appreciation for the support he received from Dean Fred Bentley and Dr Laird McElroy that started his 42-year career in the livestock feed manufacturing industry in Western Canada. Students are eligible to receive one Bar None award or scholarship in any given academic year.
